Cai Beo – a floating village close to the World Heritage and well-known Ha Long Bay in the Northeast of Vietnam. The life of the about 450 families living here is all about fishing and seafood farming. Some families are living on their actual fishing boats while others are living in small wooden houses on floating platforms. Even on water the houses are protected by dogs, which are barking as soon as you come close by with your boat. The village is located between the widespread limestone mountains topped with rainforest and is well protected from bad weather. Due to the floatable houses it’s possible to easily change the location in case of huge storms.
